| Opinions can be aired and considered by people in the group | Less quantitative than a questionnaire | 
| If anonymous, perhaps more honest answers will be provided | People have to be available | 
| Questions can be planned ahead of time by the analyst | Not as anonymous as a questionnaire so people may be less willing to convey the truth. |
